Welcome

What we offer

We offer you ‘secure’ document storage chambers for the storage of your valued documents such as Last Wills and Testaments (and accompaniments to your will), Lasting Powers of Attorneys, Property Title Deeds and most other deeds you require storage for. Our main head quarters is based in the ‘heart of the (very beautiful) Three Counties’ but our services are spread ‘nationwide’. We specialise in wills and deed storage and we could not be a safer option for all your ‘secure document storage’ requirements.

We store documents for individuals, we offer family storage facilities and business document storage facilities, within our various ‘off-site’ secure storage chambers.

We have individual, fire-resistant storage cabinets, within fire-resistant secure storage chambers with dual locking systems, with 24 hour operational CCTV, behind tall (prison like) padlocked gates and, furthermore, we have trained security dogs in attendance throughout the night when the facilities cannot be accessed by staff members and other personnel.

We, as a company, pride ourselves on our due diligence and we take every precaution possible in the handling of your documents with the upmost security.

Security is our primary concern with the storage of your Deeds

Our premises are secured with high fencing and only authorised personnel have access to the storage facilities. We operate our own fleet of vans and all the drivers are employed by the company we do not use outside agencies, we know and trust our colleagues out in the field.

Deed storage contracts

Our contracts are straight forward and easy to understand:

  • We do not apply penalties for permanent removal of deeds from storage
  • We do not apply any minimum invoice values to our deed storage agreements
  • We can manage the entire process from end-to-end, including deed collection, retrieval, storage and scanning

Our document storage services provide a safe, controlled environment for a range of sensitive documents and records.

Retrieval form or letter of authority

We can’t just release documents to anybody. Our handy retrieval form makes it easier for us to ensure that documents are sent to the right people. Simply click contact us. Fill out the form and send it in to us.

  • We’ll scan the document
  • All documents are signed in and out of our facilities with a time and date so we know exactly when they arrived or left – this means we can track its entire journey.
  • Documents posted to you

Once the retrieval charge has been paid your documents will be posted to you via Royal Mail Recorded Delivery – we can provide you with the tracking number on request.

There are a few things that we would look to establish

In order to be able to find your Will as easily and quickly as possible you should look to ascertain the following information:

  1. Who wrote the Will
  2. When was it written
  3. Was it written by an SWW member?
  4. Do you have a copy of the Will?
  5. Do you have any evidence on where it was stored?
  6. Where have you tried looking so far?

Using the answers to these questions we can search our database of over 100,000 records to identify where the Will Writer stored their documents, whether they were an SWW member, and if they weren’t, whether we have rescued their Wills if they no longer practice.

If you cannot locate the document and cannot find the Will Writer then you’re probably not alone. There may be others looking for their Wills as well. Speak to your local Trading Standards office and ask them for any information that they have about the person that wrote your Will.

Check with your Bank or local solicitor to see if they have the documents and do a thorough check at home.

Considerations you should make:

Your Will should be stored safely when it’s written. You are under no obligation to store with your Will Writer or Solicitor.

Your Will is not invalid if your Will writer goes out of business or retires. Your Will is made valid by the signing and witnessing of the Will – this is known as the attestation.

It is always a good idea to inform your executors that they are executors when the Will is created, and it is wise to tell them where the Will is stored. If the document is stored with a secure facility, like the National Will Archive, then executors will not be able to withdraw it without a valid death certificate.
Your Will should be reviewed every 3-5 years to take into consideration any changes in personal circumstances.

You may alter or revoke your Will during your lifetime provided you still have the mental capacity to do so. You may revoke your Will expressly by writing a new one, by destroying it or by directing someone else to destroy it in your presence. Your Will is also revoked if you marry or enter into a civil partnership, unless you state in the Will that it was made in contemplation of this event.
